Water wheels, they’re useful things: When there's water to propel them that is, to drive machinery, to grind corn; you get the picture. This one, however, does none of those things. It is now magnificently ornamental, and can be seen being propped-up by a graciously helpful tree adorned by a winter’s coat, and with a nearby timber shed keeping watch on the whole affair. Perhaps the shed is where the garden tools are kept, or the gardener is keeping themselves warm out of the wintery air. But, whatever the story, we’re sure you’ll agree that the whole scene, to be found at Broom Mill Farm in West Auckland by the way, is just simply endearing, and thankfully, is where you'll be able to enjoy feast and food, amongst other things at any time of year. Even when it’s snowing in winter! You should come and see for yourself!
