LANDSCAPES and SKIES GALLERY by PhotoGraphixDesigns
Plumes of smoke wipped up by a brisk northerly wind were scudding across the northern Pennines just west of Bishop Auckland (County Durham) when this picture was taken. The setting sun was dazzling, bright, and glorious in a surrounding glow of firey orange, and seemed to set the dark and broody skies alight. And the smoke? No, the sun was not the cause. But (controlled) heather burning was. Whew, that's all right then!
