THE BLUES AND GREENS The photographer remembers the phrase "blues and greens should never be seen" when he arrived dressed in these colours at the house of his somewhat older mother-in-law to be. Being a polite fellow, he simply shrugged, and got on with his life, whilst thinking "what nonesense". Polite indeed! Of course, he knew that blues and greens were never wasted by Nature, and in this image, taken many years later on the Raby Estate (Barnard Castle, County Durham), he was delighted to take in the lovely view of the blues and greens of this small reedy waterway, and to share his rendition "The Raby Reedy Waterway, in Oils" with you. Oh yes, Nature sure knows how to put these colours to good use!
