Fine Art e-CARDs - THE OLD SYCAMORE TREE
About the e-Card
This old sycamore tree can be found in The Old Collingwood Field on the outskirts of the even older mining village of Coundon, a mile from Bishop Auckland in County Durham. As historians would have it, Coundon was once known as Cuna-dun meaning "cows on the hill" where they (the cows) were watched (from a distance) from Auckland Castle, the home of English Bishops who once ruled in the area. The Collingwood Field now holds horses rather than cows, and of course, the Old Sycamore Tree.
