THE RABY REEDY WATERWAY "In Oils" The Raby Estate at Staindrop, situated between the small towns of Barnard Castle and Bishop Auckland in County Durham, is home to a fine English Castle owned by Lord Barnard. The popular walled estate houses cultivated gardens, green meadows, and leafy trees and woodlands, through which run herds of cattle and deer, and as this picture shows, a small reedy waterway. It's a pretty place, and archetypically English!
